The Korg Miku Stomp Vocaloid guitar effects pedal gives you the power to reproduce the tonal characteristics of Hatsune Miku. Some of you may be aware of Hatsune Miku, but for the uninitiated, she is a Vocaloid (humanoid persona voiced by a singing synthesiser), which samples Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita's voice. Using Yamaha's Vocaloid 2 and Vocaloid 3, Cyrpton Future Media created Hatsune's voice by sampling single Japanese or English phonics which, when strung together, could create full lyrics and phrases. Korg has gone one step further, by implementing those samples into a stomp box design, allowing you to recreate her voice on stage, alongside some truly amazing guitar effects.
The aluminium diecast body is as solid as can be, making the Miku Stomp perfect for live use. In honour of this unique pedal, the casing carries a specially commissioned original illustration, which fuses together the world of Hatsune Miku and the world of guitar effects. Control is simple, with a single dial knob to switch between the eleven lyrics patterns, whilst the ON/OFF stomp switch activates/deactivates the effect.
There are eleven different lyrics patterns that a provided with the Miku Stomp: Ahh; Lahh; Looh; Pahh; Nyan; Scat; Phrase 1; Phrase 2; Phrase 3; Random 1 and Random 2. The lyrics for Japanese song "Senbonzakura" are preset. Each one gives you access to a unique sample that responds harmoniously to the notes you play. The random pattern automatically connects words to create lyrics, giving the effect of a live vocal performance.
Not only that, but you can create a user pattern that allows you to enter your own lyrics for truly individual tones. MIKU STOMP provides a user area that lets you vocalize any desired lyrics. Operation is easy; use the dedicated iPhone app to enter text data, load it via your guitar pickup, and then just play your guitar. Hatsune Miku will immediately start singing your original lyrics. The user area accommodates up to 6,000 characters (*), so you'll be able to enter an entire song worth of lyrics. * Although this iPhone app can be used with an English system, MIKU STOMP's vocal functionality supports only Japanese. While it does not support input of English lyrics, it does support input of "romaji," the method of using the Latin alphabet to express Japanese. When entering Japanese directly, “hiragana” and “katakana” input are supported.
Whether you choose to play the pedal alone or include it as part of your signal chain, the limitless tonal possibilities of the Korg Miku Stomp Vocaloid guitar effects pedal will provide endless fun.
